A PLATFORM
to improve lives
PANDEMIC PREPAREDNESS
We need to prepare now for the next pandemic and enact new health policies.
HEALTHCARE FOR ALL
Every person should be able to have a doctor for their families.
FAIR WAGES for FAIR WORK
Everyone who works full-time should be able to make ends meet for their families.
SUSTAINABILITY
Sustainable economic growth must address climate change.
SENIORS
No senior should have to choose between paying for medicine or buying food.
WOMEN'S RIGHTS
It's time to end the wage gap and ensure that women have healthcare protections.
FISCAL RESPONSIBILITY
We can't spend more than we have. It's really that simple.
AGRICULTURE
Our local farms deserve as much support as our corporations.
MEET DR. MARK DEPONTE
I was born New Haven, CT, and grew up in Branford. My father was a resident in orthopedic surgery and my mother was a nurse. I went to college at Syracuse University and graduated with a BA in History. After living and working in New Haven for 6 years, I entered medical school at the St. George’s University School of Medicine and did my residency at the St Elizabeth’s Family Medicine Residency in Utica New York where I served as Chief Resident my final year.

After my residency I met and formed a partnership with Dr. Bert Coppotelli, and we have been working in Lisbon, CT ever since. We manage an independent practice affiliated with William W. Backus hospital in Norwich, and I have been the Chief of Family Medicine for the last 10 years. In that capacity I have served on the Medical Executive committee, and I am currently the Vice President of the medical staff.
During my residency I met and married Sheila Burke, who at the time was completing her Master’s Degree in Social Work. We have two children, Catherine, 19, and Matthew, 18. Both have completed their entire education in the Griswold public school system. My wife Sheila has worked as the Student Supervisor in Griswold High School since 2007.
In 2017 my wife saw a local news presentation on a group called Power of Together. It is a group of about 100 people who agree to donate $100 each and get together quarterly to choose a local person, or organization as the recipient of money. My wife’s group Power of Together 3 has donated $44,000 to local groups in the community, and I couldn't be more proud of the work she is doing.
Very few people get an opportunity to do the thing they’ve always wanted to do in life. I've been fortunate: it has always been my dream to be the doctor for a small town in Connecticut. Working in this community and for the people of Eastern Connecticut is the daily fulfillment of that dream.
